Well, I’m finally done with the photoshoot. A whopping 130-ish photos to upload so it’s gonna take awhile for the whole page to load =D
Construction on Force Impulse was quite interesting. His body was hollow, he had different combining elements that make up the gundam itself and his excalibur was just awesome. Impulse debuted on the first episode of Gundam Seed Destiny, piloted by infamously hated Shinn Asuka. If you wanna know more about him, just wikipedia or watch the anime. You’ll know why he’s so hated after watching several episodes of GSD.
So why did I buy Force Impulse? Z’s review. And also cause I didn’t know what other gundams to buy when I went to Singapore that time. He’s a pretty cool looking gundam and I heard the no grade/high grades version of Impulse is phat and blocky. And since I don’t usually go for anything below master grades, yeah they spoiled me >=[ , I'm quite satisfied with the model itself. Thanks for sharing your opinion Z! You rock! Anyway, enough babbling, Let's get down to the review and pictures~
As you can see, his shoulder pads are kinda small and funny looking. His arms are short and his legs are long. Deformed gundam? Nah, probably his design. Kinda looks weird though. His feet are VERY thin and slender looking. They look more like heels than shoes, along with his very thin body, some might think this is a female gundam. But fear not, his face makes up for his manliness. They just scream “ass kicking mother fker”. Well..from an angle they do. From a direct front view, he doesn’t look intimidating at all gaahhaha XD
Articulation:

The arm's connected by that little piece right there and this allows it to bend a certain way for his chest flyer mode thingo~

When you pull him up a bit(or flip up a red hatch on the back I think..) his upper body can turn a full 360 for more action poses

The leg can bend at the knee for an impressive fully flushed bent leg XD Well not really since there's a thruster blocking the leg from fully achieving a flushed bent leg.

When the foot bends down abit too much or too far, these pistons unnecessarily pops out which is damn annoying! -.-"
Weapons and accessories:

And this unusual device so that different types of backpack attachments can be ..well..attached to Impulse. Quite interesting..
Normal weapons and a few unique accessories. His beam saber handles are unusually long o.O and that backpack attachment thingy is a unique addition for Impulse. Now let’s go for some posing!
Hand to hand:

Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. This is such a feminine looking pose which I just realised o.O LOL
Ranged combat!

Tried the gundam seed/seed destiny typical beam rifle pose. Failed cause had no reference such as pics at the time of the photoshoot ><"
Sword Combat time!

"Zodiac Alliance of Freedom..." Screwed up the Treaty after Freedom so yeah. It shall be called ZAF now X)

I won't take crap from you people!! The red piece actually has some letterings but it's hard to see on camera
Time for some intergrated weapons~
And finally, my Freedom can get it’s ass kicked just like in the anime! Woo~ Go Kira for being so awesome and Shinn for kicking such an awesome ass. You both emo lovers deserved to get your asses kicked respectively AHHAHA XD

Hope you enjoyed the battle XD
I know it’s not exactly the same like in the anime but who cares. I can’t really remember the scene anyway.
So here are a few notes about the model kit that you’ll get:
-The beam effect parts are all pinkish and have sparkles in them.
-The Armor Shneider(knives) are grey in colour before I painted them gloss aluminium.
-There are only 3 foil stickers: The eyes and 2 flat blue coloured stickers for the head camera. Try and paint the clear plastic, clear blue if possible. Definitely worth it and much better looking.
-This kit is very stable and can balance easily. No loose joints yet and can be posed easily without any balancing issues.
-Excalibur is heavy and cannot be held straight horizontally or vertically for long before it starts sagging down.
-Impulse is very slender and thin. This might be a pro or a con depending on your taste.
-Fingers are the new type with ball joints for each finger although the usual 3 fingers are connected. These aren’t the Version 2.0 master grade fingers though which are much much more articulated.
-Shoulder pads are tiny. Very unusual when compared with other gundams.
- Pistons on the foot are VERY annoying. They’re loose and can be pulled out easily. The only loose and annoying part out of this whole kit.
-Upper torso might feel wobbly or unstable because it’s connected by only 4 small pegs from the waist but can actually take quite a few abusing.(Don’t go throwing Impulse around though. I do not take any responsibility if anyone’s Impulse becomes damaged from abusive actions
)
-The decals and stickers are really plain and boring. Nothing interesting since they’re all pretty much just Z.A.F.T or random numbers with the exception of the FAITH symbol. Wished that was a dry transfer decal instead of a sticker though.
-There’s a molding error on the chest area as you can see from the pictures. There are 2 small linings which are NOT symmetrical. I don’t really mind them but I know some people will.
-There’s ALOT of panel lining to do. Unlike Freedom, who barely has any, Impulse has so many linings to ink/panel line that I was kind of put off and delayed myself more.
-Nub marks are pretty well hidden I suppose since most of the nub marks are overlapped by other armour pieces. Well done Bandai.
-Inclusion of the backpack attachment thingy is an excellent addition and if you have variation of striker packs such as strike noir’s wings or the 3 different strike packs, then you’ll have a versatile Impulse.
-Excalibur is awesome!
Gahahahha and there you go. I pretty much enjoyed building Impulse since he was quite unique. Had fun phototaking him as well, especially trying to do the battle scenes. If you were turned off by the chubby no grade/high grade Impulses, then get this one since he is WAYY thinner than any other gundam I know. Maybe Wing’s thinner but that’s a different story since he’s small. Impulse is tall and thin. Very eye pleasing, cept for those small shoulder pads. Other than that, pretty awesome model if you ask me.
My next project will most likely be Destiny Extreme Blast mode or Strike Freedom Full Burst mode. Stay tuned for those! Thanks for reading, whoever you people out there are. Comment please! =D Don’t keep quiet~ I wanna know who reads this blog LOL
Alright, Sayonara~
